After just one year at Chelsea, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall looks set to exit Stamford Bridge. It has led to an intriguing conversation from Everton supporters on social media about their imminent signing.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 26, is expected to leave Chelsea very soon.
The central midfielder may have only played a fringe role in Enzo Maresca’s squad last season, but he still scored five goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. He will depart West London with a Club World Cup and Conference League medal, too.
Reports this week claimed that Chelsea have agreed to sell Dewsbury-Hall to Everton for £25m plus add-ons up to £28/29m. Now, the wait is on for an official confirmation from the Premier League clubs.
Even though Dewsbury-Hall was initially reluctant to leave Chelsea, the Englishman has accepted a move to Merseyside, where he will hope to become a key player for David Moyes’ side.

Everton supporters adamant Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall starts for them
According to many Everton fans on X, Dewsbury-Hall will be going straight into their strongest starting line-up once his move from Chelsea is confirmed.
One fan wrote: “Dewsbury-Hall for me takes Dwight McNeil to the bench. Improves first team and squad as a whole.”
“Dewsbury-Hall improves our midfield,” another commented.

One supporter posted: “Dewsbury-Hall really is a great addition. Buzzing with that one.”
“Dewsbury-Hall instantly improves us,” another said.
Even though Blues head coach Maresca refused to put Dewsbury-Hall on the transfer list, it was quite evident that he would be leaving for the right price. In fairness, this expected switch to Everton feels like a no-brainer for all parties.
For Everton, they are signing a box-to-box midfielder who will add extra quality to their XI, something their supporters agree with. As for the 26-year-old star, he should get regular action in the top division as he enters his prime years.
The reality is that Chelsea have more than enough depth in midfield to cope with Dewsbury-Hall departing.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall proved John Obi Mikel wrong
Back in August 2024, John Obi Mikel insisted Dewsbury-Hall couldn’t help Chelsea following his arrival from Leicester City. Mikel said: “When I look at this team, Dewsbury-Hall. Again, I have nothing against this player, it’s not his fault, it was the club who brought him to the club, he cannot help Chelsea.”
While Dewsbury-Hall is moving on from Chelsea after just one year, where he found starts very hard to come by, his signing wasn’t a failure. In fact, he played his role very effectively as cover in the squad, stepping into the side pretty successfully on several occasions.
It’s certainly not an easy role to fill in the squad, and we will see how the likes of Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo do in the new season competing with star teammates Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez in central midfield.
Dewsbury-Hall can leave for Everton with his head held high and the respect of the Chelsea fanbase.
