Liverpool have confirmed the sale of 22-year-old midfielder Tyler Morton to Lyon in a deal worth a reported £15m.
The Under-21 European champion was reported to have been in talks to join the Ligue 1 giants earlier this month, having failed to play his way into the Reds' first team on a regular basis.
Morton played second fiddle to Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones in the first half of the 2024-25 season, before spending the second half of the campaign out with a shoulder injury.
The midfielder recovered in time to play a critical role in England Under-21s' European Championship success earlier this summer, providing the assist for Jonathan Rowe's winner in the 3-2 final success over Germany.
However, Morton and Marseille's Rowe will now go from teammates to rivals, as the former has completed his switch to Lyon on a five-year contract until the summer of 2030.

"Tyler Morton has completed a permanent transfer to Olympique Lyonnais from Liverpool," a statement from the Reds read. "The 22-year-old agreed terms and finalised his switch to the Ligue 1 outfit on Tuesday.
"The move brings an end to the midfielder's journey with the Reds that began at the age of seven and saw him progress through the Academy set-up to make 14 appearances for the senior team. Everyone at LFC would like to wish Tyler all the very best for the future."
As well as a respectable £15m transfer fee, Liverpool are also understood to retain a 20% sell-on clause for the 22-year-old, who will play in the Europa League for Lyon in the 2025-26 season.
Morton made his debut for Liverpool's senior team under Jurgen Klopp in the 2021-22 season - making nine appearances in all tournaments that year - before two productive loan spells with Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.
However, the 2002-born lynchpin did not play a single Premier League minute under Slot last season, making just three EFL Cup appearances and enjoying one outing in the Champions League and FA Cup.

Morton has now become the sixth player to leave Liverpool for a fee this summer, following Luis Diaz, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips out of the Anfield exit door.
In total, the Premier League champions have pocketed a mammoth £128.9m through their sextet of summer sales, and that figure is likely to increase further between now and the September 1 deadline.
Darwin Nunez remains in dialogue with Al-Hilal over a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League, while Ben Doak, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott could also be cut from Slot's attacking ranks.
Further back, fringe defenders Calvin Ramsay and Rhys Williams could also be sold if the right opportunity arises, but Liverpool would only pocket nominal fees for the injury-prone pair, in spite of their exceptional negotiating skills.
Slot's side are back in action against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on August 10, five days before opening the Premier League campaign at home to Bournemouth.
