Sources: What Leicester are now willing to do with Hermansen to entice West Ham amid advancing Victor talks

TBR Football can exclusively confirm that West Ham United and Leicester City are back in talks over Mads Hermansen.

The Hammers are currently in pursuit of a new goalkeeper after letting Lukasz Fabianski leave the London Stadium over the summer.

Hermansen has been in West Ham’s sights, but the Hammers have also been in pursuit of Botafogo stopper John Victor.

TBR Football understands that West Ham have been pushing to strike a deal for Victor for a fee of less than £10million.

However, TBR Football can now confirm that the Hermansen lead is still active, thanks to a potential compromise from Leicester.

Leicester willing to drop their price for West Ham target Mads Hermansen

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that West Ham have re-engaged in talks with Leicester over Mads Hermansen.

Hermansen was their number one choice but Leicester’s £25million asking price put them off.

Now it is believed that Leicester, who need to make room in their squad, are willing to drop their price for Hermansen.

It remains to be seen how much the Foxes would be willing to accept for Hermansen, considering West Ham have a £10million alternative also lined up.

Who Leicester prefer out of Mads Hermansen and John Victor

Bailey understands that West Ham see Hermansen as “the pick”, but at the same time they are working on a budget.

West Ham are also looking to bring in reinforcements in midfield, so they need to be mindful of how much money they spend on a goalkeeper.

At the same time, the Hammers are desperate to land the right goalkeeper, added Bailey, so there’s a balancing act they need to strike.

“Graham Potter really wants to get this keeper choice right and he wants one who can use his feet,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“As a club they honestly really think Hermansen is the pick, but they have a limited budget and he isn’t cheap.

“But those talks are ongoing again. They have been in talks with John Victor too… and that has advanced. It is going to be one of those two.”
