West Ham join race to sign highly-rated 19-year-old Liverpool wonderkid

West Ham United have joined in the race for Liverpool talent Ben Doak, with the attacker entering the final year of his deal.

According to David Lynch, Ben Doak continued to attract big attention from Premier League teams, as West Ham United joined the race. The move for the Liverpool talent could prove tricky owing to a high asking price, but the pressure will be on the Merseysiders to sell.

Ben Doak was always seen as a top-level talent coming out of the Liverpool ranks. The club values him highly and even reportedly rejected offers in the region of £20 million during the January window. He spent the previous season at Middlesbrough and made a sufficient impact in the Championship.

The right-winger may not be tempted to continue at Liverpool, although he might still land a place as Mohamed Salah’s backup during the upcoming season. However, the highly-rated 19-year-old Liverpool wonderkid may want to cement his status as one of the key stars somewhere else, as he may not be able to oust the Egyptian from Liverpool’s right wing.

While Liverpool are eager to get the best possible price for the highly-rated 19-year-old, they may be the party under pressure to sell. That is because of Doak’s contractual situation, as he has entered the final year of his deal at Anfield, and there are many teams interested.

Everton have already cooled their interest as they are unwilling to match Liverpool’s asking price. West Ham are the latest to enter the race for the exciting winger, as the Hammers ponder making an approach to test the waters for the attacker.

West Ham are interested in Ben Doak

West Ham have a starting right winger in Jarrod Bowen, but they have considerable doubts about Luis Guilherme’s talent moving forward. Adding someone like Doak would improve their attacking setup, especially after losing Mohammed Kudus.

Liverpool are also trying to sell Doak to Crystal Palace as part of the move for Marc Guehi, but ultimately, the player may have the power to choose his next destination. At West Ham, Doak may end up playing a key role ahead of the new season, as regular action will be key for the player in his decision-making as he gears up to leave Merseyside.
