Jaguars Defense Dominates on Day 10 of Training Camp

JACKSONVILLE – Jaguars 2025 Training Camp continued Tuesday.

It was the 10th day of the first training camp under Head Coach Liam Coen, featuring a two-hour, thirty-minute practice in helmets and pads at the Miller Electric Center. Each day throughout camp, members of Jaguars Media – senior writer John Oehser, senior correspondent Brian Sexton, senior reporter/editor J.P. Shadrick and team reporter Kainani Stevens – will share an observation.

Here are Tuesday's "campservations:"

John Oehser, Jaguars Senior Writer…

This wasn't the sharpest, most-efficient offensive practice of 2025 Jaguars Training Camp, which wasn't a tragedy but also very much wasn't OK with those involved. The Jaguars returned to the MEC with a contact-heavy, padded practice that was heavy in the running game early and that featured rookie wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter practicing on both sides of the ball for the first time this camp. The post-practice theme from Head Coach Liam Coen and quarterback Trevor Lawrence was this indeed was a bit sloppier than is ideal – with referees calling multiple penalties. Many of the penalties were motion- and formation-related, with the NFL altering rules in those areas and many teams – including the Jaguars – using training camp to adjust in that area. Coen also said the team could have run better Tuesday and that the offensive line had perhaps its worst camp practice to date. The offense and Lawrence for the most part had progressed in recent weeks, and Lawrence specifically on Tuesday said he likes his progress in this camp. Tuesday wasn't the best day, but it's not a trend and the Jaguars have two more padded practices before the 2025 preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday. Four more days until real (sort of) football at the 'Bank.
