Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill takes a tumble from No. 1 but continues ‘NFL Top 100’ streak

In 2023, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had 119 receptions for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns. The next summer, the former West Alabama standout ranked No. 1 in the “NFL Top 100” of 2024.

In 2024, Hill had 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns and tumbled to No. 47 in the “NFL Top 100” of 2025, the NFL announced on Tuesday.

In its 15th year, “NFL Top 100” features a ranking for the league’s best 100 players as selected by the players for NFL Films.

Hill has been appeared in the poll after every season of his NFL career, and his ninth appearance is the most for a player from an Alabama high school or college. Wide receiver Julio Jones (Foley, Alabama), quarterback Cam Newton (Auburn) and quarterback Philip Rivers (Athens) had eight appearances apiece.

But this year’s ranking is Hill’s lowest. He appeared at No. 36 in 2017, No. 40 in 2018, No. 19 at 2019, No. 22 in 2020, No. 15 in 2021, No. 15 in 2022, No. 7 in 2023 and No. 1 in 2024.

Using a new digital-first format this year, “NFL Top 100” is being revealed two players at a time every weekday on the social-media platform X until Sept. 1, when the top 10 players for 2025, as chosen by their peers, will be announced on NFL Network at 7 p.m. CDT.

Hill is the sixth player from an Alabama high school or college to appear in this year’s rankings, with Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen (Abbeville) at No. 63, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix (Pinson Valley, Auburn) at No. 64, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (Alabama) at No. 82, New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (Wenonah, Alabama) at No. 87, and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) at No. 91.
