Brian Schottenheimer responds to Colin Cowherd over backwards visor complaint

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has become the latest victim of Colin Cowherd’s long-standing contempt with prominent members of NFL organizations wearing backwards hats. And it seems as if Schottenheimer is well aware of the fact that Cowherd doesn’t seem to like his style.

Over the past few days, Cowherd has dedicated time on his show, The Herd, to discussing Schottenheimer’s decision to wear a backwards visor at a recent press conference, going as far as to calling the decision “selfish” and “narcissistic” considering he is representing both the Cowboys organization and all of the sponsors of the team.

On Tuesday, Colin Cowherd further rallied the troops to be on his side about his stance on backwards by bringing on his FS1 colleague Nick Wright to discuss the topic, who concurred that Schottenheimer’s appearance was a bad look for the Cowboys.

Speaking with reporters after Cowboys training camp on Tuesday, Brian Schottenheimer walked to the podium wearing the backwards visor as he has nearly every day of training camp so far. But it seems as if he heard Cowherd’s complaint loud and clear, addressing what the FS1 host had to say at the very start of his press conference.

“Sorry Colin, let me turn my hat around,” said Schottenheimer with a big smile on his face, before chuckling and turning his visor back around.

Cowherd was far from amused with Schottenheimer’s snide remark, responding in a sarcastic post on social media questioning his “professionalism”.

“Appreciate the professionalism,” wrote Cowherd.

Cowherd has been far from complimentary about his Schottenheimer’s tenure as the Cowboys head coach, even suggesting he may not be long for the job, explaining how Nick Saban would be an ideal fit to coach the Cowboys. So it’s not exactly a surprise that Schottenheimer may not be Cowherd’s biggest fan either.

Clearly, Colin Cowherd is skeptical that Brian Schottenheimer is the right man for the Cowboys job. And Schottenheimer doesn’t particularly seem to care what Cowherd has to say about him. So don’t expect these two to resolve their differences anytime soon.
