Bucs Training Camp 2025, Day 10 Notes (LEFTOVERS)
August 6th, 2025
Yeah, Joe already posted his notes from training camp practice on Tuesday. How about some midnight leftovers for a snack?
* In one-on-one drills, Kindle Vildor did a really solid job covering Mike Evans down the right sideline and denies Evans.
* Pushoff! Rookie 6-6 receiver Jaden Smith (UDFA Nevada) had a major pushoff on Bryce Hall down the left sideline. Blatant with the left hand throwing Hall away to create space. And here come the flags.
*”Flags” was a big theme in practice, especially early on. The Bucs had referees Tuesday. Their right arms had to be sore Tuesday night from throwing so many flags. It wasn’t uncommon to see three plays in a row watching flags fly through the air. By that standard, it was a very sloppy practice.
* Dennis Houston got tangled up with Vildor. But what impressed Joe was how quick Houston’s feet were to untangle and stay on his two feet to complete the route.
11-on-11
* Tanner Taula catches a pass on the left side and is absolutely drilled in the ribs by Haason Reddick. The collision pops the ball loose. Forced fumble by Reddick!
* Baker Mayfield lets loose and hits Garrett Greene on a deep pass down the left sideline perfectly in stride. What a throw. What hand injury? The crowd loudly roars its approval.
* What was the license number of that truck you just ran into Rachaad White? The Bucs running back runs up the middle and is totally blasted by linebacker Antonio Grier. How hard did Grier blast White? Grier knocked White backwards. You know how fullbacks can truck a linebacker? Well, Grier trucked White.
Two-minute drill
* Traffic breaks through the line and gets in Mayfield’s face. No problem. Mayfield then just goes Tim Hill and sidearms a pass to Sterling Shepard in the short right corner of the end zone for six.
* Vildor absolutely levels Ryan Miller down the left sideline. Joe’s seeing a lot of strong hitting in practice today. It’s good for the soul!
* But here was an example of not hitting: SirVocea Dennis and Miller were supposed to engage, even though the play was on the right side of the field. Dennis and Miller (no pun intended) decided to do a Moe Howard and Curly Howard routine. They were supposed to hit, even though they gave up on the play. So both of them looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders and bro-hugged to at least show the coaches they engaged each other on the play.
