Leeds United midfielder Charlie Crew has completed a second successive loan move to fellow Yorkshire club Doncaster Rovers in League One.
The Whites have several fringe players in dire need of a move in August with their playing opportunities limited at Elland Road coming into the Premier League campaign.
Multiple youngsters were part of Daniel Farke’s pre-season camp in Germany, suggesting their readiness for more senior involvement, most likely coming in the form of loan exits.

Leeds United midfielder Charlie Crew completes Doncaster Rovers loan
Charlie Crew’s senior international debut for Wales came before he featured competitively in the Leeds first team, indicating United have a very bright talent on their hands after he switched the Cardiff City youth setup for Thorp Arch.
Having made his senior Leeds debut last season, he moved out to Doncaster Rovers for the second half of the campaign and helped Grant McCann’s side to snatch the League Two title on the final day, thus gaining promotion back to League One.
Now, the 19-year-old has been conformed as returning to the South Yorkshire club for the 25/26 season on loan, much to the delight of the Rovers fanbase and their boss, whose text message about Crew’s arrival was used as the teaser for the signing:
McCann here, clearly over the moon to have Crew back with his side as they battle to stay in the third tier after his 13 appearances last season – and Crew will unite with two former Leeds men in Thorp Arch graduate Robbie Gotts and veteran Billy Sharp.
Perfect next step for Leeds United’s Charlie Crew was a League One loan
The obvious progression for Crew after winning the League Two title was to head into League One for a full season, and Doncaster is probably the ideal destination.
He’ll be playing regularly under a manager that clearly rates him incredibly highly, has vast experience in the league, and already knows how best to coach him.
For Crew, his bright potential needs optimal loans to accelerate him towards being someone Leeds could use in the future, and he’s one to definitely watch this season.
