Fabrizio Romano claims 'very exciting' Man City talent will undergo medical today ahead of loan …

Manchester City defender Vitor Reis is on the verge of sealing a loan move to Girona, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester City have been busy on the transfer front this summer, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Pep Guardiola famously prefers a smaller playing contingent and he is reshaping his squad so they can challenge on all fronts this coming season.

And though Vitor Reis only joined City in the January transfer window, he is already in line for a move away, with Romano discussing the latest developments.

Who else Girona could sign from Manchester City this summer

Man City have a lot of faith in Reis becoming one of the best defenders in the world.

The hope will be that the “very exciting” Reis, in Pep Guardiola’s words, can take a big step forward in his development over the next 12 months.

While there have been conflicting reports over Reis’ immediate future, it now looks as though he will be plying his trade away from the Etihad this term.

Girona have also been trying to sign Claudio Echeverri on loan, but they face strong competition from Serie A side Roma.

Indeed, Echeverri is reported to favour a move to the Eternal City over a switch to Catalonia this summer.
