Player ‘very likely’ to join Manchester United should agreement be reached

Manchester United and Newcastle United have been battling for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško this summer.

Late on Monday, the Magpies made an improved bid of €80m plus €10m bonuses for the striker. Manchester United tabled the first offer yesterday, and the two clubs haven’t found an agreement with the Bundesliga side yet.

On Tuesday, Sky Deutschland reported yesterday could be decisive to sort out the 22-year-old’s future.

That didn’t happen, but Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg indicates we may be heading to the final conclusion soon. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update.

The feeling ‘is and was’ that the Slovenia international would pick the Red Devils over other clubs. The journalist adds ‘nothing has changed in recent days’, suggesting Šeško still favours Ruben Amorim’s side.

According to Plettenberg, Manchester United tabling a bid for the frontman is ‘crucial’ in this saga.

The Old Trafford club seem to be pushing forward to strike an agreement with Leipzig. If they are successful, then it’s ‘very likely’ the frontman will join Manchester United.

This wouldn’t please Newcastle, who have already missed out on a few of their targets in this window.
