Two days ago, Marca reported UD Almería have rejected Everton and OGC Nice offers for Dion Lopy. They didn’t have information regarding the figures of either bid but stated the Segunda División side are requesting €20m.
Everton are determined to sign the Senegal international this summer and haven’t been put off by the initial rejection.
That’s according to Wiw Sport, and they state the Toffees are preparing an offer of around €25m for the midfielder.
The fee David Moyes’ side planning to propose is more than the Spanish club’s demand [as per Marca].
However, Wiw Sport aren’t certain on how this case will unfold, if and when Everton make an improved offer. They point out claims made in Spain that Almería don’t intend to let any of their players leave for less than €15m.
Wednesday’s edition of AS reports the 23-year-old is attracting interest from France and England, ‘especially Everton’. Despite this, Almería have no plans to sanction Lopy’s sale in this window and are sending out messages of being strong against potential attacks.
Although Everton are expected to make a new bid, the Spanish club’s tough stance can be a concern.
