The Fiver: Zetterer, Livakovic, Hermansen, Victor & Areola (a goalkeeper special)

Welcome to KUMB's latest transfer rumour round-up - five stories from around the web featuring players potentially on West Ham's shopping list, or current Hammers on the radar of other clubs...

Mads Hermansen

Positive dialogue continuing between West Ham and Leicester over Mads Hermansen - remember him? (He's so last week) - according to trusted correspondent Henry Winter, he of Carlos Tevez fame.

Apparently a hill Winter is prepared to die on this one, for he continues to claim personal terms are "in place". The asking fee of circa £25million would however appear to be unrealistic for a player with such limited top flight experience and none at senior international level and is perhaps why West Ham are looking at alternative options (or making it known that they are).

Dominik Livakovic

In one of the more "out there" goalkeeping links to have emerged in the last 24 hours, West Ham are reportedly exploring a move for Dominik Livakovic, a 30-year-old goalkeeper who currently plays for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Süper Lig.

The Croatian international is under contract with Fenerbahce until 2028 and his estimated transfer fee is between €6.5 million and €9 million. Livakovic is known for his experience at both club and international level, making him a reliable option for West Ham’s goalkeeping department.

Alphonse Areola

In another one of those generally-unreliable Turkish links, West Ham's current number one is said to have been recommended to Galatasaray via "agents".

It is widely rumoured that Areola's position is under threat, a suggestion that is almost certainly with foundation given the sheer number of links to alternative goalkeepers of late. However any move would likely involve the Hammers, not exactly flush at present, seeking a transfer fee for a permanent sale. In this instance, Super Lig clubs are not exactly known for paying "super league" wages - and with Areola though to be earning north of £100k per week, this one would seem like a bit of a non-starter - although that's not to say clubs may have been made aware of his availability.

Michael Zetterer

West Ham, it is claimed, have submitted a bid for experienced Werder Bremen goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, 30.

The "last offer" (news to us!) is reported to have been below Bremen’s €5m valuation. Zetterer is under contract until 2027, but he’s up for sale as Werder see big potential in 21-year-old alternative Mio Backhaus and believe he could become their future number one.

John Victor

No updates today on this one, did X celeb Romano go Quickdraw McGraw on us when firing off a "here we go" yesterday?

There have been no updates since yesterday's tweet suggesting a €10million fee and personal terms had been agreed, leaving just a medical to go in order to complete Jon's move to east London. Could it be that West Ham view the 29-year-old as a back-up option in the event that other, more preferable deals can be struck ahead of 1 September? Watch this space...
