Neto is out of Bournemouth and already in Brazil, set to sign a free transfer deal with Botafogo. The goalkeeper left the Cherries’ pre-season camp in the United States after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
According to Globo Esporte, he will now undergo medical tests and sign a two-year deal with the option to extend for six more months. The personal terms are fully agreedas previously covered, but Botafogo will only announce it once the sale of current first-choice goalkeeper John to West Ham is confirmed.
Neto had spent last season on loan at Arsenal and was still under contract with Bournemouth, entering the final year of his deal. The club had no plans to reintegrate him, making negotiations for a release straightforward.
With the Brazilian side already planning ahead, Neto was quickly lined up as John’s replacement. Now, with one goalkeeper landing and another on the way out, the only thing missing is the final confirmation from London.
