Nottingham Forest player ignoring interest from Leeds United – Whites move isn’t what he wants

Leeds United have made an approach to sign Nottingham Forest’s Jota Silva this summer.

The winger struggled for a prominent role since joining the Reds from Vitória Guimarães last summer. He’s keen on reuniting with his former manager, Rui Borges, at Sporting, and they are working on securing his services.

Two days ago, Record reported Sporting are in a rush to sign the Nottingham Forest man as multiple unnamed clubs have shown interest in him. Wednesday’s edition of the same newspaper reports Leeds United are one of them.

It’s claimed the Whites have made an approach for him, but he’s prioritising a move to Sporting.

The 26-year-old firmly believes he’ll have an important role under Borges and therefore, has ignored approaches from Leeds and an unnamed Brazilian club.

Record state Silva is a step closer towards joining Sporting, after they held talks with his agent and Nottingham Forest yesterday. The parties have come closer to an agreement, but there are still some details that need to be ironed out.

Sporting are optimistic of signing the Portugal international before the end of this week. Record point out Nottingham Forest initially wanted an obligation to buy as part of the loan deal but are likely to settle for a €10m buying option.
