Everton may have to make Almeria an offer they can’t refuse to sign defensive midfielder Dion Lopy.
The 23-year-old had an impressive season in LaLiga 2 but was unable to help his side reach the Spanish top flight through the promotion play-offs.
Almeria have received a bid for Lopy from the Toffees, but the Segunda division outfit are said to be holding out for £17million.
The Blues are set to sign Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for David Moyes, but they could potentially have to look for alternative targets for the number six position.

Almeria don’t want to sell Everton target Lopy
Lopy is “untouchable” at Almeria amid interest from the Toffees, according to AS.

The news outlet reports in its print edition (6 August, page 20) that while the Blues are “especially” keen to sign the Senegal international, the Spanish club have no intention of selling him.
It’s been claimed that the LaLiga 2 outfit are committed to keeping the 23-year-old and won’t consider his departure in any case.
The Merseyside outfit may have to go all out to buy the defensive midfielder from Almeria if they have serious intentions.

Moyes will get a robust midfielder in Lopy
Moyes has experimented with playing James Garner in a deeper role during pre-season, and the Englishman has thrived in it.
While Idrissa Gueye has extended his contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Scottish manager phase him out of the starting lineup.
The Toffees have some quality options in the engine room with Carlos Alcaraz and the incoming Dewsbury-Hall, but could arguably do with a bit more depth.
Sheffield United are interested in Tim Iroegbunam, and it will be interesting to see whether the 22-year-old will want to leave Everton for regular game time elsewhere.

The Merseyside outfit evidently need several reinforcements in the senior squad this summer after Moyes took several academy players to the pre-season tour in America to make up the numbers.
Lopy’s strong dribbling, tackling and ability to win aerial duels seemingly make him an ideal number six for the Scottish manager at the Blues.
Only time will tell whether the Toffees will be able to sign the Senegalese midfielder.
