With less than a month left for Manchester City to trim down their squad, Hugo Viana must be working behind the scenes to facilitate potential exits on loan and permanently.
Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Maximo Perrone have all departed the Etihad Stadium but it is important to note that City took 27 players to the FIFA Club World Cup — with Mateo Kovacic and Jack Grealish left out of the squad.
However, more exits could follow as Stefan Ortega is set to leave Manchester City.
Claudio Echeverri could go on loan as well, with Girona and Roma eyeing his signature.

Now, journalist Nil Sola has posted a picture of Reis boarding a flight to Spain to sign for Manchester City’s sister club.
Sola captioned his post, which read: “The morning image with Vitor Reis, his wife, and the representatives traveling to Girona, where he is scheduled to undergo a medical check-up today and meet his teammates at the afternoon session planned at the Sports City.”
Ederson revealed how good Vitor Reis could become in the future
Reis, who Manchester City signed for £29.6 million is one of the most talented centre-backs in the world.
In his few appearances as a City player, the Brazilian has impressed with his astute reading of the game, aerial dominance and composure in possession. At Girona, Reis has the chance to further hone his talent and by the 2026/2027 season, he could potentially become a starter for City.

Ederson is a huge fan of Reis, tipping his countryman to become one of the best defenders in the world, as he explained: “Vitor has a very great talent, with a very promising future. We talk every day, we are always together, me, him, Savinho and Matheus Nunes. He is very promising. It’s hard to put a 19-year-old defender directly in the Premier League, especially in City. But he has already had some games and performed very well. I see him as a great future of City’s defence.”
Ederson added: “He is a player who listens a lot, who seeks to evolve, both in training, in the gym, and in the English classes he is taking. If he continues with this mentality, this desire to evolve, he will certainly be one of the best defenders in the world in the future.”
