Gazzetta: Milan reject Newcastle bid for Thiaw

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Newcastle have submitted an offer of €30m for the 23-year-old centre-back, which the Rossoneri have not accepted.

The Pink Paper suggests that Massimiliano Allegri is fond of the three-time Germany international and that he would ideally like to keep him on board despite numerous links to a move away from San Siro this summer.

Allegri has lined Milan up with a back three for most of pre-season, which means that Thiaw could be set for more game time this season, given that the Rossoneri are relatively light in that position and given that the German is capable of playing in multiple roles across the back line.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, it is not ruled out that Newcastle could return with an improved offer for the former Schalke defender.

Thiaw has also been linked with several teams in Serie A this summer, including with Cesc Fabregas’s Como and Igor Tudor’s Juventus, but La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Allegri is becoming increasingly keen on keeping the centre-back on board.
