Exclusive: When Man United hope to announce Benjamin Sesko with Old Trafford unveiling plans revealed

TBR Football understands that Manchester United and RB Leipzig are in the final stages of negotiations over their deal for Benjamin Sesko after the Slovenian confirmed his preference to move to Old Trafford this summer.

Both Man United and Newcastle lodged bids above £70million for Sesko this week, with the bid from the North East club being around £4million more.

However, on Tuesday, we were told that Sesko’s camp confirmed to Newcastle that a final decision had been made and the player would be looking to move to the North West.

Leipzig were also informed of Sesko’s decision, and since then, talks between them and United over the make-up of the deal have continued, with sources close to the deal telling TBR Football that their initial offer of around €85million was deemed acceptable, but the talks over add-ons, bonuses and payments were now being finalised.

We can also confirm that United and Sesko’s camp have been in talks over his proposed contract, and we are told that an initial agreement has been reached over a five-year deal.

Exclusive: Manchester United want to unveil Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford

The hope within Old Trafford is that they could be able to unveil Benjamin Sesko ahead of their final pre-season friendly at home to Fiorentina on Saturday, TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, reveals.

Bailey states: “This deal is now accelerating – Sesko informed Newcastle and Leipzig officially on Tuesday that he would be joining Manchester United.

“Personal terms were never going to be an issue, and broad agreement is in place for those.

“I am told that United would love to get the deal over the line by Saturday to have him presented to the crowd against Fiorentina.

“One thing I am told is that Ruben Amorim, internally, is delighted to be getting his new number 9 – this team is now becoming an Amorim XI – from the inverted wings back, to the two CAMs to the number nine – this is now an Amorim team heading into the new season.”
