Bobby Clark breaks silence on Derby County transfer as he reveals drive to 'prove people wrong'

Bobby Clark has spoken about his for the first time, after the former Liverpool midfielder made the switch from RB Salzburg to Pride Park on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old, who played for the Reds in their final win over Chelsea, featured against the Rams as the Austrian outfit were defeated 2-1.

It's believed Derby had held a long-standing interest in the player that has gone as far back as September 2023, though Clark opted to remain at Anfield for 's final season as manager.

Now, nearly two years later, the youngster has finally made the move and has revealed all exclusively to the .

"Once I found out Derby were interested, I had a chance to speak with the manager and the staff, and with his goals and the way he is aligned with me, it seemed right," Clark told RamsTV.

"(The friendly against RB Salzburg) was around the time when I knew that Derby were interested. It was a weird one after speaking to the coaching staff, the club and then playing against them as well."

He joins as John Eustace's ninth signing of the summer transfer window so far, joining the likes of Patrick Agyemang, Rhian Brewster, Andreas Weimann, Danny Batth, Richard O'Donnell, Carlton Morris, Dion Sanderson, and David Ozoh through the Pride Park entrance doors.

Speaking on the idea of working under the Rams manager, Clark continued: "I think he knows that I'm at a point where I want to prove people wrong, and I'm hungry to play football again, especially being back in the UK.

"It's a great league and I just want to kick on here."
