Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has shared his Premier League predictions for this season, and hailed Liverpool’s show of ambition in the transfer market ahead of it.
[Glasner has been speaking to Sky Sports Austria](https://www.skysportaustria.at/mediathek/brutal-investiert-glasner-von-liverpool-transfers-ueberrascht/), where he was asked about Liverpool’s investment so far and how that’s affected his predictions for the Premier League title race.
Arne Slot’s side have been the big spenders so far this summer, spending €308.68m on big deals for Florian Wirtz (€125m), Hugo Ekitike (€95m), Milos Kerkez (€46.9m) and Jeremie Frimpong (€40m).
They don’t appear to have stopped yet either with them currently trying to secure a deal for Newcastle Untied’s Alexander Isak, which is expected to cost well over €100m, and a centre-back still needed.
Glasner has been impressed by what he’s seen and believes it’s a sign of Liverpool’s bigger ambitions.
_“Liverpool have obviously invested heavily this year with Florian Wirz, Hugo Ekitike, Frimpong and Kerkez. I don’t know if they’ll bring in Isak now too,”_ he said.
_“They’ve been playing at this level for years, so I have to say I was a bit surprised that they were so active, but of course it also shows their ambitions._
_“I think you can always clearly see a club’s ambitions in the transfer market. And it seems that Liverpool FC isn’t satisfied with just winning the English league; I think they want to win the Champions League. And they obviously saw that we needed to add one or two things to the squad, and they made that very clear and explicit early on this summer.”_
Due to that spending, and potential more spending in the coming weeks, Liverpool will enter this season as title favourites.
But their rivals have not been quiet either. Manchester City have spent the summer rebuilding as well, after spending big in January, while Arsenal have added to their squad as well, notably the addition of striker Viktor Gyökeres.
There’s also Chelsea, who have spent big again and enter the season on the back of winning the Club World Cup in America.
The Crystal Palace manager is backing those four to be the contenders, while also giving Tottenham a brief mention.
_“The usual suspects: yes, of course, Liverpool will have a say again, City will have a say, Arsenal, who are also, well, it seems like this year the top World Cups have come together,”_ [he added.](https://www.skysportaustria.at/mediathek/glasner-ueber-premier-league-titelkampf-top-fuenf-haben-richtig-investiert/)
_“Four or five clubs have invested heavily again. If I take City, over €300m in 2025, Liverpool similarly, I think Arsenal not far behind, Chelsea exactly the same, so you can see that they want to win the Premier League, they want to win the Champions League._
_“And these teams, yes, Tottenham also has a very good team and has also got a great coach here now. They obviously had a great coach who won the Europa League, but I do think that one of Liverpool, City, Arsenal, or Chelsea will then win the title._
_“Man United has also clearly shown their ambitions. But I think, based on the last one or two years, it’s so easy here, not to catch up in one year, but maybe in two or three.”_
