Everton look to be on the brink of another new signing. But their summer business looks unlikely to end there.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is poised to join from Chelsea in a £25million deal. Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou are already through the door at Hill Dickinson Stadium this window.
Tyler Dibling has also been the subject of three bids in recent days, although Southampton have so far rebuffed Everton’s advances. Other names continue to be linked with a move to the Blues as a result - and one major name has been linked with a surprise exit.
Here is a look at the latest Everton transfer gossip...
Ndiaye an alternative for Inter
According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye has been ‘offered’ to Inter Milan as a potential alternative to Ademola Lookman.
Lookman, a former Blues player, is believed to be keen to join Inter from Atalanta, although as of yet a deal has not been agreed. The Nigeria international is reported to have gone on strike in an attempt to force the move through, with a £27m bid turned down.
Inter are said to be willing to consider alternatives to Lookman should the process drag on and Ndiaye’s name has been mentioned as a potential option.
“So far, Inter have not advanced discussions regarding other options,” said Romano on his YouTube channel. “Inter spoke with [Christopher] Nkunku’s agents last week and had several players offered. One of them is Ndiaye. He's a creative player, but Inter aren't considering this type of deal. They haven't activated any Option B because they're focused on Lookman.”
Everton would surely be reluctant to sell Ndiaye, who was the team’s key attacking player last season after he joined from Marseille in a £15 million transfer.
Justin considered as full-back cover
According to Patrick Boyland of The Athletic, Everton are looking at James Justin as a potential option to provide full-back cover.
The 27-year-old, who made one appearance for England in 2022, looked on course to be a star earlier in his career. However, he has suffered with serious injuries in recent seasons, including two ACL layoffs.
Since his recovery from the most recent one he has played frequently, although has never quite recaptured the level he showcased after initially joining Leicester.
Justin had a poor previous season at the King Power and started 34 times for the Foxes as they were relegated to the Championship.
Lopy interest reported again
According to AS (h/t Sport Witness), Everton are still interested in signing Dion Lopy from Almeria. They could face competition though.
In the report it’s claimed there are clubs in France who are ready to join the race for the player. It has also been reported by Wiw Sport that the Spanish second tier club want £13m before sanctioning the sale of any player in their squad.
Everton are ready to go to £21.75m for the Senegal international according to the report.
