Exclusive: Where Newcastle United will go next after Benjamin Sesko tells them he wants Man…

Newcastle United are looking for alternatives after discovering that Benjamin Sesko wants to join Manchester United.

It is another transfer blow for Newcastle United, who were hoping that Benjamin Sesko would be Alexander Isak’s replacement at St James’ Park.

However, Sesko wants Manchester United, which means the Magpies need to move on.

While it is frustrating to miss out on another target, Geordie Boot Boys understand that Newcastle have multiple Sesko alternatives on their radar.

Newcastle United’s alternatives include Ollie Watkins as Benjamin Sesko chooses Man United

Following Sesko’s decision, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told Geordie Boot Boys that Newcastle United are ready to move on and target other forwards.

Bailey states that Ollie Watkins is an option for Eddie Howe, while Nicolas Jackson is available to Newcastle. There is also the ongoing pursuit of Yoane Wissa, who wants to leave Brentford.

“Ollie Watkins is still there for Newcastle, and we know he is a player they like,” he said.

“Him and Wissa could be the way that Newcastle United go. It is a realistic option.

“There are other options out there for Newcastle. There is Nicolas Jackson. They have previously spoken about Evanilson at Bournemouth. There is Samu at Porto.

“Yes, Newcastle wanted Sesko and he is a player that Eddie Howe likes, but there are alternatives. It is a blow, but from what I understand they are ready to dust themselves off very quickly and move on.”

When Benjamin Sesko told Newcastle United his decision

It felt like Newcastle United were waiting to discover where Sesko wanted to go for the longest time. The fear was that he always wanted Man United, and Bailey has told Geordie Boot Boys when his decision was finally relayed to Newcastle.

“I understand that Sesko informed Newcastle of his decision on Tuesday,” he said.

“Newcastle are obviously aware of the situation, as a deal with Manchester United progresses.”

While Newcastle will be disappointed to miss out on Sesko, Bailey believes that the Red Devils are taking a ‘huge gamble’.

He added: “If I was Manchester United, I would have gone for Ollie Watkins over Sesko. I think Sesko is a huge gamble. He is unproven, and his goalscoring record is not that impressive.”
