West Ham United could look to take advantage of the loan market in the coming weeks of the transfer window, according to reports - with the Hammers having made a 'formal move' to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus to improve Graham Potter's ranks ahead of the new season.
The Hammers have already signed free transfer duo Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson to pad their squad depth, as well as last season's loanee Jean-Clair Todibo making his move to the London Stadium permanent, whilst a move for El Hadji Malick Diouf has gone through. However, more additions are needed and Luiz could be next through the doors at Rush Green alongside compatriot John Victor.

The Brazilian is expected to leave Juventus this summer after a sub-par debut campaign in Serie A, where he has been unable to show the form that he produced for Aston Villa for half a decade, turning them from Premier League relegation candidates into Champions League qualifiers in his five seasons in the west Midlands.
Having joined the Old Lady for £42.3million last summer, his relationship with the club has soured and a move back to the English top-flight looks on the cards, with Potter interested in shoring up his midfield ranks.
The report states that Juventus have told interested clubs to pay £40million for his services, though West Ham may only be in for his services on loan.
And insider Pete O'Rourke has stated that West Ham have now formalised their interest with an offer. He said on Football Insider:
"West Ham are looking at him, and have shown formal interest in a loan deal."
It's clear to see why they're interested; Luiz made 175 Premier League appearances for Villa in just five years, missing out on just 15 possible games in that time, scoring 20 goals. His experience for Brazil could prove vital, and with James Ward-Prowse, Guido Rodriguez and Edson Alvarez among others failing to produce at the London Stadium last season, Luiz would likely come in to add authority to their engine room.
