Journalist confirms Wolves target Juanlu Sanchez is ‘on the verge’ of a transfer

Wolves have submitted offers to Sevilla to sign Juanlu Sanchez, but the defender’s mind is elsewhere.

It’s been a turbulent transfer saga for Wolves, who learned that Sanchez doesn’t want to move to Molineux.

The Spaniard would prefer to sign for Napoli, but there was a twist, as it’s been reported that Sevilla preferred Wolves’ offer for Sanchez.

It’s now been reported that the player’s wishes are close to coming true, as Napoli have made an improved offer to the Spanish club.

Juanlu Sanchez on the verge of Napoli transfer

It’s been difficult to keep up with the story of the 21-year-old’s future.

Sanchez was left out of Sevilla’s matchday squad amid uncertainties about his next steps, but now, any doubts appear to have been cleared up.

Despite reports that Napoli had cooled their interest, the club from Naples are ready to bring the right-back to Italy.

Journalist Matteo Moretto confirmed that Napoli have submitted a ‘new offer’ in the region of €17m, which will be paid in four instalments.

The new bid is likely to conclude the transfer race, as Moretto noted that the player’s move to Napoli is ‘on the verge of happening’.

Sanchez will more than likely make the move to Naples, extending Wolves’ search to sign a new right-back.

Second transfer snub at right-wing-back for Wolves

A signing at right-wing-back is desperately needed, as Ki-Jana Hoever isn’t up to scratch.

The 23-year-old is currently in line to start the season in the position following Nelson Semedo’s exit to Fenerbahce.

Wolves will be incredibly frustrated at the Sanchez situation, as it’s not the first time that the club have been unable to land a target.

Marc Pubill snubbed Wolves to sign for Atletico Madrid as a deal was close to being wrapped up, which led to the Old Gold’s interest in Sanchez.

Now, a similar situation is developing, handing Wolves yet another blow in the transfer window.
