Green light given as Leeds United could move for 24-goal striker

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has made it clear that the club’s attack still needs some additions before the season kicks off. The Whites face Everton in their Premier League opener in less than two weeks.

Preparations seem to have gone smoothly, as Leeds are yet to lose a pre-season game. The club have held their own against the likes of Manchester United and Villarreal. Despite all that, Farke still believes some additions are needed in the next couple of weeks.

This may be due to the injuries piling up in camp. Dan James and Jack Harrison missed out on the game after picking up knocks midweek.

The Whites are also expecting reinforcements, as some players at the club are set to leave this month. Patrick Bamford, Joe Gelhardt, and Mateo Joseph are just some of the names mentioned.

Leeds were linked with Anderlecht striker Kasper Dolberg earlier this summer, but sources within the club rubbished exit reports. Now, Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that the Belgian club are open to selling the Denmark international this summer.

“RSC Anderlecht recently turned down an offer (not from Beşiktaş). This offer, Dolberg wasn’t particularly interested in. If the striker wants to join a new team, RSCA would be open. A departure is still likely.”

Dolberg is said to be available for around £12.6million, which would be in Leeds’ price range. But there is no word on whether the Whites would be interested in a move.

Major target Rodrigo Muniz could sign new deal

Another Leeds target this summer is Rodrigo Muniz. The Whites are keen on a move for him, and the Brazilian is also open to a move. Fulham are now doing their best to close any exits, with the London club preparing a new contract for the striker.

Leeds could still push for a move, but a long-term contract would also come with an increased transfer fee.

Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe could be enough for this season

Amidst all the noise that Leeds still need a striker this summer, the club signed Lukas Nmecha last month. The German forward was brought into the team to boost the overall quality of the squad. Nmecha has very good qualities, but goalscoring is not one. Though the forward Wolfsburg man brings something different when he leads the attack.

Joel Piroe is also showing this summer that he is ready for top flight football. Many fans and pundits have criticized him, saying his scoring will not adapt at the Premier League level. The Dutchman has already netted against top opponents in pre-season, and is looking very sharp.

Maybe Nmecha and Piroe will be enough to carry Leeds during the season.
