Arsenal Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Gabriel, Trossard, Kepa And 3 More

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel is back in training, having recovered from a knock.

The defender has not played a match in pre-season, having suffered a minor setback last month.

Gabriel has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on a serious hamstring injury, but Arteta said at the end of last week that the centre-back is “available” for selection.

That would suggest he should be fit for the first game of the season, as long as he gets some minutes in the last two friendlies versus Villarreal and/or Athletic Bilbao.

Expected Return Date – Sunday 17th August v Manchester United

Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori

Along with Gabriel, the two defenders are also available again, having taken a full part in training over the past week or so.

Timber has been slowly building up his fitness, having taken time to recover from an ankle operation he had back in May.

Calafiori picked up a knock to his knee during the 3-2 win over Newcastle last month and he did not make the matchday squad for the defeat to Tottenham in Hong Kong.

However, the Italian international is now ready to make his return to action.
