What Man Utd are doing behind the scenes to solve predicament around £40m-rated talent says it all, ‘that is as far…’

Manchester United have taken one approach to try to resolve the situation around a player under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford, according to reports.

Ruben Amorim and his Manchester United players will play their final pre-season match of the summer on Saturday against Serie A outfit Fiorentina at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been in the United States across July and August and United’s 2-2 draw with Everton on Sunday in Atlanta marked the end of their visit to the US.

United came out on top of the Premier League Summer Series after Amorim’s men won their matches vs West Ham and Bournemouth before their draw with Everton.

Ahead of their trip to the States, the Red Devils’ pre-season began in Europe and United faced Leeds United and played out a 0-0 draw at the Strawberry Arena.

United’s new Premier League season will begin on 17th August and the Red Devils will face rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford, with kick-off planned for 4:30pm UK time.

How Man Utd are approaching the situation around Alejandro Garnacho after the winger fell out of favour with Ruben Amorim

Alejandro Garnacho has played no part in Manchester United’s pre-season tour under Ruben Amorim and the winger has been frozen out of the manager’s plans.

The 21-year-old United star, who was linked with Chelsea and Napoli in January, has been on the hunt for a new club after his relationship with Amorim fractured.

Alejandro Garnacho is under contract with United until 2028 and the Spain-born forward has attracted interest from Premier League side Chelsea again this summer.

The Athletic’s Transfer DealSheet has revealed that Chelsea have held ‘informal discussions’ with United about potentially signing wantaway winger Garnacho.

However, it has been reported that Chelsea’s informal approach is ‘as far as’ the interest has played out from the Blues over the United outcast this summer.

Why are Chelsea interested in signing Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho?

The Athletic revealed that Chelsea’s ‘primary areas’ for development in the summer window are adding both ‘another winger’ and a ‘creative player’ to their squad.

Premier League side Chelsea have been linked with Alejandro Garnacho alongside RB Leipzig talent Xavi Simons, who has attracted interest from United in the past.

But the Blues have not made a ‘formal bid’ to RB Leipzig over Xavi Simons and have the likes of Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers as other options on their transfer ‘wishlist.’

United are reportedly holding out for a transfer fee of around £40m for Chelsea target Garnacho, having previously valued the Argentina winger at around £70m.
