Eagles veteran hype is getting louder every day at camp (and for good reason)

The buzz around Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Moro Ojomo at training camp is absolutely real.

Throughout training camp, Ojomo has shown his worth and played well, whether it's pressuring quarterback Jalen Hurts or stopping the run. All the attention has been on Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, but Ojomo might be the guy to watch.

Several Eagles beat reporters had pointed Ojomo out as the star of Tuesday's camp. Starting with Bleeding Green Nation's Brandon Lee Gowton, who pointed out some key plays Ojomo made.

"Moro Ojomo continues to dominate. And, no, it’s not just him beating up on Tyler Steen. Ojomo got by Landon Dickerson with a rip move to generate pressure on Hurts. Ojomo also beat Brett Toth (yes, it was really him this time) to log a “sack” on Hurts. Ojomo is primed for a good season."

ESPN's Tim McManus shared teh same notes on Ojomo's stellar practice.

"Defensive tackle Moro Ojomo continues to shine. He slipped into the backfield between Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens and pressured Hurts all the way to the boundary."

Ojomo could become the next great Eagles defensive tackle

The Eagles selected Ojomo in the seventh-round of the 2023 NFL Draft as he has played in 25 career games with one start. His stats might not wow people with just 23 tackles and five quarterback hits, but some might say otherwise.

Pro Football Focus has been a big supporter of Ojomo's breakout potential in 2025. They graded him as the 32nd-best interior defensive lineman in the NFL in 2024, as he had a 70.4 overall grade and an 82.4 pass rush grade in 2024.

He will enter into Milton Williams' old spot on the defensive line, starting alongside Carter and Davis. The three are all expected to have significant roles on the defense this year, especially with the youth at linebacker and in the secondary.

While it isn't spotlighted on the stat line, Ojomo has already proven that he can be an elite defensive tackle and is ready to take over Williams' role. 2025 is going to be a special season for him that could transform an already top defense into something more elite.
