Fabrizio Romano shares what he's now hearing about Arsenal move to sign Eberechi Eze

Arsenal remain in talks with Eberechi Eze's agents over a potential deal this summer, Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

The Gunners have had a very busy summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster the squad following a third consecutive runners-up finish in the Premier League, with all of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres already being signed up.

But the north London club are not done yet in the market and they are still keen to add Eze to their squad if they get the opportunity, with a move for the playmaker being discussed.

Arsenal in Talks With Eze's Camp Over Transfer

Still no club-to-club talks held

Eze, who has been described as a "superstar", helped Palace to claim the first major trophy in their history in 2024/25 as he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final.

But the expectation has been that he is set to leave Selhurst Park this summer amid strong interest from a number clubs, but none moreso than Arsenal.

However, with the new season less than two weeks away from starting there has been limited progress on a deal, and Romano has revealed exclusively that talks are still ongoing between the player's camp and the Gunners, but no talks have been held between the two clubs yet.

"Not yet, no club-to-club talks yet, but conversations with his agents have continued since June."

Eze has reportedly told friends and family that he wants to join Arsenal during this transfer window as he is keen to play at the highest level, while it's understood that personal terms are unlikely to be an issue.

But Eze's release clause, which is worth up to £68m, is believed to have expired at the start of the month and now Arsenal will have to agree a fee with Palace outside of that, which means they could be forced to pay more.

It's believed Arsenal value him at around £55m and are confident they can get a deal done for a fee in that region, but time is now running out to find an agreement.
