Jerry Jones not confident Micah Parsons will play for Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are in what is becoming an increasingly nasty contract dispute with star pass rusher Micah Parsons. This isn’t the first time that team owner and general manager Jerry Jones has found himself in one of these drawn-out negotiations, but this has to be among the most contentious.

Things came to a head with Parsons officially requesting a trade from the organization. While many felt as if the trade request was just a negotiating tactic on Parsons’ part, it appears that there’s a chance now that Parsons really does not suit up for the Cowboys again. Jones himself even expressed doubt on Parsons playing for the team in Week One of the regular season.

“Jerry Jones when asked if he’s confident Cowboys EDGE Micah Parsons will play in Week 1: ‘No, absolutely not. A big part of it is his decision. How would I know that?'” reported Underdog NFL on Tuesday.

Fans reacted to the shocking update on social media.

“As a non-Cowboys fan, we need to get Jerry to the fountain of youth, so he can keep the Cowboys bad for years to come!” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“We need a maximum age for work or something man he needs to go freaking retire dude. Same with the fossils in congress,” one person added.

“Bro pay the man or trade him! Stop holding him hostage and disrespecting him like that,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the saga concludes.
