A Manchester United exile under Ruben Amorim has now changed his hardline transfer position amid his pursuit to leave Old Trafford in the summer window.
Ruben Amorim has been dismantling his Manchester United first-team squad this summer as part of an overhaul for his long-term vision at the Premier League club.
The 40-year-old United manager has been able to add further squad depth with the arrival of new signings, including Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo.
However, Amorim’s plans for the United squad extend to offloading players this summer and the Portuguese coach is keen for a clearout of talent no longer needed.
Several United players have become surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, including the likes of Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.
Amorim has already overseen one major high-profile departure this summer after Barcelona signed United player Marcus Rashford on a season-long loan deal.

Man Utd’s current transfer position on former Ajax ace Antony amid interest from Real Betis
Antony has not been involved in Manchester United’s pre-season campaign under Ruben Amorim and the Brazilian winger is tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer.
The 25-year-old attacker left United during the January window after falling down the pecking order under Amorim and was handed a lifeline chance at Real Betis.
Antony impressed during his Real Betis spell and the ex-Ajax star was able to secure regular first-team football and put his career back on track after his United spell.
Cadena SER now reports that United still ‘want to sell’ Antony this summer and are keen to ‘recover’ as much of the £82m fee they paid Ajax for the player in 2022.
The Spanish radio station added that Betis are currently ‘looking for more creative formulas’ to land Antony in a deal rather than pay a ‘large investment’ this summer.
United are reportedly holding out for a £50m transfer fee for Antony after his resurgence in form, but the Red Devils entertain offers between £20m to £30m.

Where does Antony stand on his club future amid Real Betis’ desire to sign the Man Utd winger?
Antony’s preferred destination is tipped as Real Betis and the Brazil international returned to Old Trafford in July after his loan deal at the club expired.
Betis were impressed with the United winger’s loan spell under Manuel Pellegrini and are looking for the best option for a permanent move to the Villamarin Stadium.
Cadena SER claims that ‘time’ is currently in Betis’ ‘favour’ over Antony, but the former Ajax ace has not ruled out a move to another possible destination.
The outlet suggested that the Brazil winger ‘could listen’ to the ‘possibility’ of a ‘formal offer’ if it came from a ‘strong Champions League team’ this summer.
