Rangers are reportedly keen on securing the services of Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein in this transfer window.

The 23-year-old is an Estonia international and has already made his first-team debut for the Gunners in 2022.

However, since then, he has been loaned out to Reading and Real Valladolid and could be on the move this summer, as well as Russell Martin is keen on bringing in a new shot stopper.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also waxed lyrical over the 23-year-old’s performances.

When he signed a new deal in 2024, Arteta told the club’s official website: “Karl has continued to impress us with his attitude and commitment to getting better every day.

“We value being part of his continued development and I want to congratulate him on earning a new deal with the club.”

The Spaniard also praised Hein after he saved two penalties in a shootout in pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

He said: “I’m very happy for him. Obviously, he had to be really patient and wait for his opportunity. He came back from his holidays really sharp and prepared; he knew that he had big games ahead of him and he started tonight, and I think he had a really good performance.”

Rangers should make a move for Hein

Hein would be an excellent signing for Rangers due to his proven potential and experience at high levels.

Despite limited first-team appearances at Arsenal, Hein has shown promise during loans, notably at Real Valladolid in La Liga.

His 39 caps for Estonia demonstrate his international pedigree, offering reliability in high-pressure matches.

Hein’s youth career highlights his ability to perform consistently.

Rangers, aiming to bolster their squad for a title challenge, would benefit from his agility, shot-stopping and composure, developed under Arsenal’s coaching.

With Jack Butland as the main goalkeeper, Hein’s hunger for game time makes him an ideal backup, pushing for a starting spot.

Gers should move quickly to secure his signature before other clubs capitalise on his potential.
