Harvey Elliott is among the targets under consideration by West Ham this summer.
Decision-makers at the London Stadium had been lining up a double-deal including fellow Liverpool talent Tyler Morton, but the midfielder has since moved to Ligue 1 side Lyon.
West Ham are still in need of a replacement for Mohammed Kudus, who joined Tottenham last month in a deal worth £55million.
The Hammers are also on the verge of signing Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, with the Brazilian expected to fly to London imminently.

Elliott is in talks with RB Leipzig
Elliott is keen on a move away from Anfield this summer, after Arne Slot gave the midfielder just 360 minutes in the Premier League last season.

And Liverpool are ready to let the 22-year-old leave, as they attempt to raise funds for their potential move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
Elliott caught eyes at the Under-21 Euros for England in June, after five goals earned him the Player of the Tournament award as the Young Lions lifted the trophy for a second consecutive time.
But the former Fulham talent’s breakout in the Premier League came in the 2023/24 season, when he scored three goals and provided nine assists for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Elliott is now keen to rediscover that form in new surroundings, and West Ham are eager to provide them.
But negotiations have been slow, with Liverpool determined to stick to their valuation of the player, and that has allowed other suitors to make their move.
Among them is RB Leipzig, with the Bundesliga club expected to sanction the sale of Xavi Simons to Chelsea in the coming days.
And according to Fabrizio Romano (6 August), Die Roten Bullen have now entered negotiations with Elliott over personal terms.
The midfielder is Leipzig’s priority target to replace Simons, but a decision from Elliott has not yet been made.

West Ham must act quickly
West Ham owner David Sullivan has been accused of prioritising cheaper options this summer.
The Hammers have made two signings on free transfers, and are yet to spend more than £19m on a new player.
But Sullivan can put those accusations to bed, should he splash the cash to strengthen Graham Potter’s options with the talent of Elliott.
