Everton are holding talks with Manchester City regarding a potential loan move for Aston Villa hero Jack Grealish.
The £100m England winger has found himself on the periphery at the Etihad Stadium, but David Ornstein of The Athletic claims the Toffees have approached City about taking the 29-year-old on a season-long loan.
"The deal is considered complicated and at this stage there are no guarantees it will materialise, but discussions are happening over the England international," Ornstein reports.
Grealish, the Villa academy product, was omitted from the City squad for their final fixture of the season against Fulham and subsequently for the Club World Cup this summer.
Grealish joined City from Villa in the summer of 2021 for a British record fee of £100m, signing a six-year contract that runs until 2027.
He won the Premier League title in his opening three campaigns with the club, including a treble in 2022/23, but his importance within the squad has diminished since then.
In the subsequent two seasons, he managed just 20 appearances in each. Consequently, Grealish has found himself out of the England squad. He was overlooked for the 2024 European Championship by Gareth Southgate and is yet to receive a call-up from Thomas Tuchel.
Everton are gearing up for a bustling conclusion to the summer transfer window. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is poised to become the club's fifth summer acquisition following Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou.
Grealish has been working with a personal trainer, Jamie Reynolds, in a bid to make sure he is in the best possible condition for a move this summer.
