West Ham progressing in talks to sign striker – Club demanding at least €15m

West Ham United are progressing in talks with FC Metz’s young striker Idrissa Gueye, with a move expected to happen.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report that West Ham are pushing for a deal and the French side believe it will be hard to keep their young striker.

They are demanding at least €15m before they let the 18-year-old striker depart this summer. West Ham are desperate to secure him, though, and are preparing an offer to beat the competition.

Gueye managed five goals and one assist in 20 games last season in Ligue 2 and has established himself as one of Metz’s most promising young players.

His ‘speed, early maturity and potential’ have made him one of the most sought-after profiles in the Metz squad and West Ham are now making moves. Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and another English club are also following his case closely.

West Ham appear to be out in front, though, and talks are progressing well between the Hammers and the striker.

It seems they want to secure an agreement with the 18-year-old first and will then push forward to get a deal done with the French club.
