Report: What Wrexham chief told Christian Eriksen before potential transfer following Man Utd…

An insight into Wrexham’s proposal to Christian Eriksen ahead of a free transfer has now been shared.

Wrexham’s transfer interest in Christian Eriksen emerged at the beginning of the summer window.

The midfielder was still under contract with Manchester United at the time, but became a free agent on June 30.

A move for the Dane then went quiet before Eriksen’s agent confirmed Wrexham transfer interest.

However, it was not good news for the Dragons, with his representative saying that the midfielder is still keen to play top-flight football.

Martin Schoots said: “But Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition and he absolutely wants to stay in Western Europe. There are some contacts going on but it has to suit both sides.”

Now, an insight into what really would have been a major move on Wrexham’s part has been provided.

While the Welsh outfit have been linked with many potential names this summer, a move for Eriksen was certainly possible.

Details of the club’s approach for the ex-Man Utd man have been shared, and fans will love one thing he was told when considering if he should join Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s project.

According to the Daily Mail, it was Wrexham CEO Michael Williamson who made the pitch to Eriksen.

And when doing so, Williamson outlined their plan for the Welsh powerhouse to be playing Premier League football in two years.

How Eriksen reacted to the proposal has been outlined as well, and while he was impressed by the pitch, his stance on playing top-flight football was unchanged.

Co-owner Rob Mac has played down ‘consolidation’ in the Championship going into 2025/26.

However, the two-year plan means promotion is not expected within the next 12 months.

Wrexham are predicted a 21st-place finish in the second tier by Opta’s supercomputer.

Meanwhile, Paul Mullin is backing a top-half finish for his long-time club this campaign.

Promotion seems very unlikely, but if anyone can go four in a row, it would be Reynolds and Mac’s club.
