The future of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been one of the top stories of the 2025 NBA offseason.
At this point, there is no clarity on what his future will be. He seems likely to play out the final year of his contract with the Lakers, but that isn't even guaranteed.
James has been mentioned in a multitude of trade rumors this offseason. While a trade could make sense, there aren't a lot of suitors around the NBA with the means to acquire him. He's much more likely to hit free agency next offseason.
With that being said, the 2025-26 season is coming up quickly. James is gearing up for what some think could be his final year.
He hasn't announced any plans about retirement yet. If he doesn't announce that the upcoming year will be his last before the season, it seems unlikely that he would retire before having a farewell tour.
A new video has been shared of James preparing for the season with his wife Savannah James. They were putting in work doing pilates.
Bleacher Report shared the video and fans quickly took to the comments section.
"Goats putting in that DAWG work," one fan commented.
Another chimed in, "The most powerful couple."
"Love to see them staying active together! Pilates is a great way to bond and stay fit," a third comment read.
A fourth comment said, "Wow! Sav is tough! Well done Bron Bron."
"My guy Bron STAY puttin in work," a fifth fan wrote.
Last season with Los Angeles, James played in 70 games and averaged 24.4 points per game to go along with 8.2 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and a steal. He shot 51.3 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from the three-point line.
At 40 years old, to be producing those numbers and still being an elite NBA superstar, James has been outworking even younger stars. His offseason work ethic has been among the best in the business.
It will be interesting to see what ends up happening with his future. The Lakers have decided to build around Luka Doncic, which could leave James on the outside looking in.
Should he hit free agency next offseason and want to keep playing, there would likely be quite a few teams with interest in pursuing him.
