Jack Grealish has already called £30m Everton player a 'joke' as talks over Manchester City…

Everton are in talks to sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City.

The £100m man is edging closer to the Etihad Stadium exit door.

Fabrizio Romano believes Everton are working to sign Grealish on loan for the 2025/26 campaign, after facing difficulty in a bid to take Tyler Dibling from Southampton.

Should a move to Merseyside materialise, it would represent a real change of scenery for the England international, going from an elite club in Manchester City to a side who finished 13th in the Premier League last season.

However, there is already a familiar face at Everton who can help Jack Grealish settle – Jordan Pickford.

Jack Grealish has previously hailed Jordan Pickford

Gone are the days where the Everton squad is packed with England internationals such as Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Leon Osman, Ross Barkley and Joleon Lescott.

However, there is still one England regular at Everton in Pickford, who Grealish has already said he rates very highly.

Speaking to England on YouTube back in August 2021, the Manchester City No.10 called the £30m Everton glovesman a “joke” of a player – in a good way of course.

Grealish said: “Pickers is a joke man, he’s so good as well with his feet.”

The pair have made 30 appearances together for England, with two of those actually coming for the England U21 side, so the duo go a long way back.

Jack Grealish’s record against Everton

Grealish – who Tottenham have also enquired about – boasts a fantastic record against the Toffees in terms of results, but not exactly on a personal level.

The man born in Birmingham has won five and drawn three of his nine meetings with Everton, suffering just one defeat, a 4-0 hammering, which came back in his Aston Villa days during the 2015/16 season.

On a personal level – however – Grealish has never scored or assisted against the Toffees, so Everton fans have little reason to be annoyed at him, which bodes well should a move to Merseyside happen.
