Rangers transfer news as Arsenal keeper on radar and'talks held'with La Liga defender

Rangers are reportedly set to rival Sevilla over the signing of Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein.

Ibrox boss Russell Martin has already bolstered his squad with nine new signings this summer and has previously hinted that he will look to bring in another goalkeeper to provide added competition for no.1 stopper Jack Butland.

And while a loan move for Brighton's Carl Rushworth is said to have fell through, the Light Blues are now said to have their eye on Estonia international Hein, according to reports in Germany (via insidefutbol).

Hein, 23, joined the Gunners' youth ranks back in 2018 and has made one first team appearance for Mikel Arteta's side.

He spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid in La Liga, making 31 appearances as the team were relegated from Spain's top-flight.

Hein has won 39 caps for his country since making his senior bow five years ago.

Meanwhile, Rangers are also said to have made a move for Real Betis youngster Nobel Mendy.

The left-sided defender joined Betis from Paris FC 12 months ago but made just five outings in all competitions for the La Liga outfit last season.

The Senegal-born player is attracting plenty interest, with Rayo Vallecano, Club Brugge and FC Basel all said to have expressed an interest.

And transfer guru Matteo Moretto now claims that Gers have joined the race to sign Mendy, with Rayo said to be their main rivals to land his signature.

And finally, Record Sport understands that Ibrox youngster Josh Gentles could be heading out on loan.

The 17-year-old attacker impressed on loan at Alloa Athletic last season, registering three goals and three assists in 14 League One matches.

And talks are now ongoing that would see the teenager head to Raith Rovers in the Championship, with Stark's Park boss Barry Robson on the hunt for more reinforcements.
