Leeds United have seemingly placed Artem Dovybk towards the top of their list of transfer priorities over the last few weeks.
The Ukrainian does not fit in with Gian Piero Gasperini’s style of football, which has prompted genuine speculation of a surprise departure from Roma.
Leeds have already made contact over Dovybk’s availability, but are yet to table an official offer for the frontman, who has been in prolific form in his last few seasons.
The 28-year-old would be an excellent addition to Daniel Farke’s side, and the chance to sign him is an opportunity that cannot really be passed up, especially following this latest development.

Leeds must get Dovbyk deal done as Garcia stays at Real Madrid
Leeds have also shown an interest in signing Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid to bolster their attack this summer.

The Whites saw a bid rejected for the youngster earlier in the window, but the door had seemingly still remained open for a possible loan move, as the Spanish giants evaluated their squad.
However, new boss Xabi Alonso has made it clear that he wants the frontman to be part of his first-team squad, and is prepared to give him the opportunity to shine, according to Fichajes (6 August).
With all hopes of signing Garcia now off the table, the West Yorkshire outfit must surely begin to chase Dovbyk with even more fervour.
Leeds will be left with just two senior strikers, if Joseph and Patrick Bamford both leave
Piroe and Lukas Nmecha have just two Premier League appearances between them
Farke will be desperate to add more threat in front of goal if Leeds are to survive
There are concerns surrounding Joel Piroe’s lack of experience in the Premier League, and Farke is not blessed with great depth at the top of the pitch, especially if Mateo Joseph completes his exit as expected.
With that in mind, the Whites really cannot afford to go into the new campaign without another option to lead the line within their ranks.
Their return to the top flight is a little under two weeks away, and their need to get a deal concluded for a striker is growing ever more urgent.
Now that Garcia can be ruled out as an option, they must ensure they do everything they can to secure Dovbyk’s signature instead.

Dovbyk would be a huge signing for the Whites
Dovybk could easily become the perfect foil for Piroe at Leeds, and it is no exaggeration to suggest that his potential arrival could be enough to almost single-handedly keep his new club in the league.
Player Leagues Apps Goals Assists
Artem Dovbyk La Liga, Serie A 84 41 13
Joel Piroe Championship 97 33 10
Lukas Nmecha Bundesliga 24 5 –

Having a reliable goalscorer at your disposal is undoubtedly a must for any newly-promoted side, and the Whites would be getting exactly that with the former Girona man.
He has taken to Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues like a duck to water in the last two seasons, and his goal record reflects that of a player who is firmly in the form of his life.
Leeds probably didn’t even expect Dovbyk to be available to them at the start of the summer, so now that they have the opportunity to bring him in, they simply cannot miss out.
