“A New Year With High Expectations”: Fox Sports Questions Whether or Not the Chicago Bears Will …

The Chicago Bears are always winning the offseason with their headlines and potential hype heading into another NFL season. Chicago started the 2024 season with a 4-2 record, but everything went downhill for them and finished with a 5-12 record.

There will be a lot of changes for the Bears in 2025. Ben Johnson is the new head coach for this football franchise, and he will look to lead them back to the playoffs. If Chicago wants to make it to the playoffs, quarterback Caleb Williams is going to have to be the leader of this football team and play better than he did during the 2024 NFL season.

There will be a lot of pressure on the Bears to be a lot better during the 2025 NFL season. Foxsports.com created 10 questions for the upcoming 2025 NFL season. One of the questions is will the Bears win a playoff game this year? This seems to be an interesting question. The last time that Chicago won a playoff game was on January 16, 2011, against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Bears have been in the playoffs twice since that moment, but Chicago lost to the Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints in that span as well. Foxsports.com said about Chicago potentially winning a playoff game during the upcoming NFL season,

“Once again, the Bears enter a new year with high expectations. And while we’ve said this many times in the past, this year might be different. They got the hottest commodity in the coaching market in Ben Johnson, who might be able to unlock quarterback Caleb Williams’ full potential after a shaky rookie season. Chicago also added several veterans within the trenches to bolster its offensive and defensive lines, which should pair well with the talent it has on the outside at wide receiver and along the edge on defense. But Bears fans will only know the hype is for real when their team starts winning games, especially big ones. That’s the only way Williams and Johnson can push away pressure to perform in 2026, because if they fall short of expectations in 2025, their seats will turn hot in the offseason. “

There is a lot that will have to go right for Chicago to potentially make the playoffs and win a playoff game as well. A lot of people are predicting the Bears to finish in fourth place in the NFC North. Some people think that the Detroit Lions, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Green Bay Packers are more equipped to be in the playoffs and win a game or two rather than the Bears.

If Williams does not play well in his second season in Chicago, there will be many questions about him moving forward. This team no doubt has the talent on paper to be a very good team. They need to put it altogether in order to make the playoffs. Also, Chicago needs to clean up its mistakes that has been occurring in training camp before we can talk about them winning a playoff game let alone making the playoffs.
