Isak saga 'far from ideal' for Newcastle - Howe
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak was instructed to train separately from the main squad on Wednesday, following his absence from the pre-season tour.
Isak did not join the team's pre-season trip to Singapore and South Korea, ostensibly due to a minor thigh injury, but also after expressing a desire to explore transfer options amid interest from Liverpool.
Head coach Eddie Howe publicly stated that players must “earn the right to train” and cannot “act poorly”, implying repercussions for Isak's actions.
Isak, who has three years left on his contract and has resisted new deal overtures, faces clear-the-air talks with Howe, with Newcastle valuing him at £150 million.
The club is actively seeking another striker, having made a bid for Benjamin Sesko and missed other targets, further complicating the transfer window for Newcastle.
