Newcastle United’s hunt for a new forward could take them to Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson.
During what has been a dreadful summer transfer window for Newcastle United, the club have missed out on a number of different strikers.
Indeed, moves for Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko haven’t come off and the Newcastle United squad are already weaker due to the loss of Callum Wilson.
The club wanted to sign a replacement for Wilson even before the Alexander Isak saga unfolded.
Isak wants to leave Newcastle amid interest from Liverpool, although reports have suggested the Sweden international will not be allowed to leave unless Newcastle sign a replacement.
Jackson is a target for Newcastle, although Chelsea have some huge demands.

Chelsea slap £80m price tag on Nicolas Jackson
Sources close to Geordie Boot Boys have confirmed reports that Chelsea want £80million for Jackson, as well as Newcastle’s interest in the player.
That would break Newcastle’s transfer record, which currently stands at the £63million paid for Isak in 2022. It should be noted that the club were prepared to pay huge money for both Ekitike and Sesko this summer.

Whether Nicolas Jackson will replace Alexander Isak at Newcastle United
Potentially signing Jackson would not necessarily mean that Newcastle cash in on Isak.
As mentioned above, Newcastle were looking to sign a new forward regardless of what happened with the Sweden international this summer.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Newcastle’s plan is to sign a striker to play alongside Isak rather than replace him.
Whether that is possible or not remains to be seen. While Isak still has three years left on his contract at St James’ Park, his actions of late would suggest he’s desperate to leave.
