West Ham are continuing in their efforts to sign Idrissa Gueye from Metz.
The Hammers have already made one addition to their forward line this summer in the shape of Callum Wilson on a free from Newcastle United.
It appears that Graham Potter and Co. aren’t done with further attacking reinforcements moving into the upcoming Premier League campaign.
This has seen conversations over a move for Gueye continue in East London as the Irons eye a transfer before the end of the summer window.

West Ham talks progress for Gueye
It is fair to say that forward additions would go down well with the claret and blue faithful after a poor season in front of goal last time out.

There will be hopes that Niclas Fullkrug can have a better year, with Wilson providing depth and experience to the squad.
With that being said, there is very little future planning in the number nine area as it stands, something which could be set to change.
This comes after French journalist Sebastien Denis reported (6 August) that discussions are progressing well between West Ham and Metz over Gueye.

The Ligue 1 side rate the 18-year-old at a value of at least £13million, being described as a “Senegalese diamond” by the Foot Mercato reporter.
Now, the Hammers are desperate to sign the striker and are preparing an offer, all while Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and one other English club track the progress of the teenager.
Gueye to represent coup signing
There has long been a hoo-doo around new number nine signings at the London Stadium, which have failed to be successful.
The likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Sebastien Haller both struggled after coming in for sizable fees over the years.

As a result, putting faith in Gueye could prove to be wise at 18, especially behind the experience of Fullkrug and Wilson moving forward.
To land the Senegal international ahead of the likes of United and Dortmund would be superb and represent a hugely positive piece of business.
