Benjamin Sesko looks set for a blockbuster summer transfer to Manchester United after reportedly reaching an agreement over personal terms. The 22-year-old has snubbed Newcastle United in favour of a switch to Old Trafford, where he will sign a five-year contract once RB Leipzig accept the fee payment structure.
Sesko has long been linked with United, who have attempted to sign him on three previous occasions dating back to when he played in his homeland, Slovenia, at the age of 16. The Red Devils finally look to have got their man to complete Ruben Amorim's attacking overhaul, but there are concerns about the deal.
Sesko represents another young forward who would arrive in Manchester from overseas and instantly inherit a new level of pressure and expectation.
Several signings have previously crumbled under that weight, including the striker he is set to replace, Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dane scored just four Premier League goals last season and could be forced out two years after his £72million arrival.
While Amorim has focused his summer recruitment on Premier League-proven attackers, Sesko is an expensive risk.

Those concerned United supporters can take comfort in the fact that Sesko believes he is ready to make the step from Leipzig, though.
Because in 2023, the Slovenian rather refreshingly admitted that he was not yet prepared to test himself at a club like United.
"Honestly, maybe [I will be ready] in a few years. Right now, I am not ready for that level," Sesko responded when asked during an online stream whether he saw himself at United.
"I still have so much to learn, so much room to improve. Let's say my maximum is 100 per cent. I'm currently at 60 per cent.

"I am still growing and improving year by year. And once I reach 100 per cent, I will be ready for anything. I think it is best to take that step when the time is right."
Two years later, United will need Sesko to be ready. Amorim's focus has been to add players to his attack who can contribute goals instantly.
Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season. Matheus Cunha notched up 15.
Sesko netted 13 times in the Bundesliga, but the transition into England's top flight has proven to be a difficult one.
