Stats Highlight How Impressive Kyren Williams Has Been In Past 2 Years

The Los Angeles Rams have a legitimate star in the backfield.

Kyren Williams has been one of the most dominant running backs in the NFL over the past couple of seasons.

As shown by PFF on X, he has the third-most rushing yards (2,443) and yards after contact (1,622) in the league during that span.

He also has the second-most rushing TDs (26) and first-down rushes (146).

That’s why the Rams didn’t hesitate to give him a three-year, $33 million contract extension.

Williams wanted a new deal, but he still reported to training camp and made it clear that he didn’t intend to hold out like some of his colleagues.

He’s run for at least 1,100 yards in back-to-back seasons, operating as a primary source of offense for Los Angeles.

The Rams took him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, so he was the ultimate bargain until now, when he will have the seventh-highest average annual salary among running backs.

He accounted for 43 percent of his team’s touches in 2024, which was the highest rate in the NFL.

Williams also has 31 total touchdowns in the past two years, which is tied with Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs for the most in the league.

If that isn’t enough, he ranks third in rushing yards over the past two seasons, trailing only Derrick Henry (3,088) and Saquon Barkley (2,967).

That’s not bad for the 15th running back taken in his draft class.
