Manchester United will not be targeting Premier League glory this season but Ruben Amorim will hope to surprise his critics.
After finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, the only way is up for Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim wants to win the Premier League as United boss, but he knows better than anyone that he is still very much at the start of his rebuild.
There is a growing optimism around United, though, after a hugely successful pre-season tour of the United States and a strong summer transfer window.

Supercomputer predicts Man Unitedโs chance of winning Premier League
Ultimately, Amorim is expected to finish top six next season and secure a return to European football after missing out last season.
But no European football also means United can put their full focus on the Premier League, which could suit Amorimโs side.
According to the Opta supercomputer, United have been given just a 0.6% chance of winning the Premier League in 2025/26.

Ruben Amorim overcame severe odds to win title at Sporting
Amorim was the clear candidate to replace Erik ten Hag back in November because of his incredible record at Sporting, including winning their first league title in 19 years.
Amorim is repeating his Sporting tricks at United when it comes to rebuilding the squad and resetting the culture around the club.
United fans will hope that Amorimโs rebuild will reap the same reward and bring the league title back to United.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Amorim spoke about overcoming huge odds and criticism at Sporting to win the league title in Portugal.
โI know that last season I used up all the credit I had but Iโm ready to start afresh,โ Amorim said.

โAt Sporting it was the same thing. They said that in three months Iโm out. They said that I had a three per cent chance of winning the title with Sporting. I know that the pressure is different [at United].โ
If Amorim can beat 3% odds to win in Portugal, United will be hoping for another overperformance from him in 2025/26.
