Fabrizio Romano convinced 'useful' Chelsea player is leaving Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are having a clear-out right now, with the likes of Lesley Ugochukwu, Carney Chukwuemeka and Armando Broja all set to follow Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall out of the exit door.

Dewsbury-Hall has just joined Premier League rivals Everton, but not everyone thinks it is a good transfer for the Toffees.

Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew recently discussed Dewsbury-Hall, stating that the midfielder would not take Everton forward.

As well as Broja, Ugochukwu and Chukwuemeka, Nicolas Jackson could also follow Dewsbury-Hall out of Chelsea this summer.

Fabrizio Romano thinks Nicolas Jackson will leave Stamford Bridge

While Chelsea are yet to receive any offers for Jackson, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano thinks the striker is as good as gone.

On his YouTube channel, Romano spoke about Jackson’s situation at Stamford Bridge amid interest from Newcastle.

He said: “I think Jackson is leaving, and Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in the situation. So let’s follow that case and let’s follow an eventual negotiation. But at the moment, still no bid on the table.”

As Romano mentioned, Newcastle are just one side who are interested in Jackson. Other clubs are also looking at the 24-year-old, including Aston Villa.

It has been claimed that Villa may swoop for Jackson if they lose Ollie Watkins. Watkins has been linked with Newcastle and Manchester United, but a move to the latter is now unlikely as they close in on the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

Nicolas Jackson would love to play under rival Premier League manager

A move to Villa would see Jackson reunite with Unai Emery, who he worked with at Villarreal.

According to journalist Simons Phillips, Jackson would love to play under Emery again, so a transfer to the Villans is something that is likely to appeal to the Senegal international.

While Chelsea seem prepared to let Jackson go before the end of the transfer window, he is not a bad footballer.

When former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp discussed Jackson in his column for The Sun last year, he described him as a “very useful player”.

Chelsea’s loss, then, could be someone else’s gain. But if Joao Pedro continues to deliver as he did at the Club World Cup, Jackson will not be missed too much.
