“West Ham will wait til the end of the window” to get deal done | Report

Transfer deadline days have sometimes been dramatic, sometimes dreadful but never dull. Last summer the reports of midfielder [Carlos Soler](https://www.claretandhugh.info/soler-question-doesnt-seem-quite-so-silly-now/) ‘jetting in’ on deadline day proved correct as the Spaniard signed on a year long loan, capping a momentous if ultimately controversial transfer window with ten players signed.

How many of those ten have gone on to succeed is another article in itself.

This summer deadline day is set to be nerve jangling for the Hammers if [givemesport.com’s](https://www.givemesport.com/exclusive-west-ham-budget-revealed-as-game-changing-signing-eyed/)  article is proven correct and West Ham continue to the bitter end with their ‘long game’ plan to secure the services of reluctant recruit **Jacob Ramsey.** Their article suggests West Ham see Ramsey as the game-changer signing they’re after and comments:

_“The East London club have a budget of just £30m to strengthen in the middle of the park, with Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey still their top target. GMS revealed this week that the club are willing to wait until the end of the window to get a deal done for the 24-year-old, despite him showing a reluctance to move to the London Stadium”_

Which sounds like a recipe for failure. Hard bitten West Ham fans will point to this as being another potential _‘we tried to sign him_‘ lament by David Sullivan if Ramsey stays set in his opinion that he’s not interested in coming to east London.

Surely far better to get over it, wish the player well and move onto the next target until the club find someone who DOES want to come to West Ham and get a deal done before the Sunderland game in ten days time.

If the Hammers are genuinely planning on spending £30 million, that is.
